Integration as a service ensures growth at Bluewater Group

Bluewater Group has a vision that everyone should have access to clean water. The company was founded with the goal of cleaning up the world’s oceans, so that people and nature can live in harmony. Through innovative water purifiers that effectively filter out chemicals, pharmaceutical residues and toxic metals, the company has developed drinking water solutions that are available at the local level.
Building for the future
In order to be able to offer clean water in the most cost-effective manner possible, Bluewater wanted to become better acquainted with its end customers. They quickly realized that an e-commerce platform was the best way to move forward, and the project was initiated as a result of this determination. The company soon realized that e-commerce would impose completely new demands on its IT environment and demand for system integration, a service which did not exist within Bluewater when the e-commerce project was launched. It therefore began to search for an integration solution into which more systems could be cost-effectively integrated in the future, thus facilitating growth.
This was the start of Bluewater and Enfo's joint journey towards a scalable and flexible IT environment in which integrations are purchased as a service, and where Bluewater can confidently trust that the integrations “just work,” without requiring many internal resources.
"This collaboration means that we can meet new technical challenges with the help of Integration as a service and our partner, Enfo. The fact that Enfo has overall responsibility for our integrations means that we can focus on what we really are passionate about – purifying the world's oceans," says Peter Selemark, Business Development at Bluewater Group.
Purchasing Integration as a service is the way of the future
System integration is becoming an increasingly common issue as the number of systems and applications within an organization grows. But often, when more systems are added the environment quickly becomes complex, and it is easy to lose control. Introducing an IT infrastructure was a “must,” but a traditional integration platform was never an option for Bluewater. It would require too many internal resources, incur high upfront costs, and be too sluggish. Thus, a flexible on-demand service was chosen wherein Bluewater instead pays for its actual use of the platform.
Integration as a service is based on simplicity. Choosing integration as a service gives the organization access to the latest technology in the cloud, without a higher upfront cost. This results in greater flexibility, and since Enfo also manages the service and ensures that experts keep the integrations up to date, Bluewater does not have to contribute a large amount of internal resources.
