Jani Rusanen describes himself as a Swiss army knife. Since 2008, he has worked at Enfo in a variety of roles such as technical specialist, consultant, team manager, director of a business unit and solution & service designer – always closely with the customers.
Currently, Jani leads a team of Solution Architects at Enfo’s continuous services business area. He is also heavily involved in finding public cloud solutions that help Enfo’s customers with their business and challenges. Seeing customers’ issues resolved motivates him, especially when it is done more efficiently than anticipated.
Jani believes in customer centricity: a good and long relationship in B2B-business requires looking everything from the customers’ viewpoint. This, however, does not always mean doing exactly as the customers wish. You must be brave enough to challenge the customers when you see another solution that fits them better.
Cloud transformation – an on-going battle
Public cloud has been a hot topic for years, but the transition to modernized public cloud services is far from ready. Most companies have moved some of their services to the public cloud, but they are still in the beginning of their journey. Corona has accelerated the development of workplace-related IT services, but also forced many companies to push brakes on a larger-scale transformation of their business-critical applications.
Strategic development may have given room to short-term business continuity, but just temporarily. Those companies that consider this an opportunity for transformation have the best odds to come out as winners.
New IT ecosystems rely on cooperation
Now and in the future, new business solutions are created, developed and operated by an ecosystem of different small and big partners. Companies need to boost their capability to build and manage an IT ecosystem that best fits their needs. This may require recruiting some IT-related key players.
All IT companies, on the other hand, must learn to cooperate within these ecosystems and as part of the customer’s team. To succeed, they must become the cooperative, high-expertise party that the customers mention as their “trusted partner”.
Trust is the key
Jani shares Enfo’s values of collaboration and trust and preaches them in his work and personal life. “Best results come when you are surrounded by people that really trust you and want to work with you to resolve challenges. You must trust them equally and be ready to climb mountains for them. This trust can be built by being honest, open and daring. The companies you represent should not matter – a common goal is all that matters.”
