Versatile data center
Enfo has its own modern data center in Kuopio with solid on-premise capacity knowhow and processes. Not only do we provide traditional cost-efficient, secure capacity as a managed service, our datacenter services cover hosting, virtual capacity and private cloud. We also offer public cloud connectivity from our own data center with SLA guarantees.
Management matters
Hybrid cloud simply means having data in two or more places. These could be any combination of data center, private cloud and public cloud. Hybrid is a step on the journey to the cloud – and a crucial one. Make the most out of it and manage it well. We talk about the value of mastering complexity, and with hybrid cloud that is exactly what we do. The more locations you have for your data, applications, services and solutions, the harder is it to govern it and to avoid overlapping costs. A good example are the licenses that often raise the overall cost unnecessarily.

Hybrid cloud use cases
Having business data in private cloud but utilizing public cloud capabilities for analytics and reporting is a common hybrid cloud use case. Another example is having a business application on-premise, but in order to provide mobile access to it for a pool of partners, the application is published through public cloud – in this scenario the application security can also be enhanced significantly. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions seem to be on a cloud path but as they are often a legacy system, the transition or transformation to cloud needs a hybrid solution or at least a hybrid phase in the process.
Why hybrid?
Why is hybrid a step on the cloud journey? Many applications cannot be transitioned directly to cloud as their maturity is not sufficient due to for example application latency requirements.
